Ronald Eugene "Ronnie" Griffin, Sr. Obituary - Water Valley MS

Ronald E. “Ronnie” Griffin, Sr., age 71, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Diversicare of Batesville, MS. He was born April 21, 1945 in Marks, MS to the late Robert Elton and Louanice Patterson Griffin. Ronnie worked for various construction companies building bridges, roads and highways and later owned his own construction company. He was also the owner and operator of B & R Trucking Company. Ronnie was an active and faithful member of Oakland Baptist Church in Oakland, MS where he served as a choir member. He enjoyed fishing and working. Ronnie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Jimmy Hood officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery with Ken Ashmore, Buddy Holland, Ken Jackson, Dickey McLeod, Bill Price and Bill Wilder serving as pallbearers.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Poe Griffin of Oakland, MS; his daughter, Shana Griffin Bauer (Chris) of Memphis, TN; two sons, Ron Griffin, Jr. (Destiny) of Banner, MS and Robbie Griffin (Melinda) of Water Valley, MS; his sister, Ann Vreeland (Roy) of Grenada, MS; his brother, David Griffin of Grenada, MS; eleven grandchildren, Justin Griffin, Robert Griffin, Nate Griffin, Joseph Griffin, AftonLynn Griffin, Jake Griffin, Kaylee Bauer, Matthew Chad Griffin, Cody Haire, Krystin Johnson, Jayme Kazzee, Andrew Keen and Matthew Moorman; and three great-grandchildren, Haisley Griffin, Adalyn Johnson and Landon Johnson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Chad Griffin; and his brother, Robert “Jude” Griffin, Jr.
