SPRINGFIELD – Diane M. (Zaremba) Pelchar, 75, of the Glenwood section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on July 9, 1941, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph J. and Sophie C. (Jorkowski) Zaremba. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from local schools and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was employed as a telephone operator for over 35 years with the former New England Telephone Company in Springfield. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Springfield. An avid New England sports fan, she enjoyed watching sporting events on television. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and most especially loved her cherished grandchildren. She leaves her two loving children, Richard T. Pelchar and his wife, Valesca, and Christine E. Wood; her loving son-in-law, Timothy Ferriter; her seven cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Shannon and Danielle Pelchar, Richard, Thomas and Alexandra Pelchar and Jillian and Aidan Wood; her two cherished great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Joshua Pelchar; her dear brother, James Zaremba and his wife, Ann; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Pelchar and Zaremba families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two loving daughters, Ann Marie Pelchar who was Called Home on July 13, 2007 and Karen L. Pelchar who was Called Home on November 1, 2015; her two dear brothers, Frederick and Paul Zaremba; and her former husband, Richard P. Pelchar who was Called Home on December 12, 2009. Her funeral and burial will be private at the convenience of her family.
