Obituary

Mr. Philip R. Sirois, a resident of Andover since 1970 and beloved husband of Beverly A. (McEvoy) Sirois, passed away at the Wingate at Andover Nursing Center on Thursday morning, February 16, 2017. He was 82 years old.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on September 27, 1934, he was the beloved son of the late Ludger and Germaine (Schelling) Sirois. Philip was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Lawrence and Essex Agricultural in Danvers. After serving proudly in the U.S. Army, Philip worked as groundskeeper at Lucent Technologies for more than 41 years. Mr. Sirois enjoyed the outdoors. He especially loved to spend time with his family in the mountains and at the ocean. Philip was an avid fan of New England sports especially the Red Sox and Patriots. Philip loved ice-skating, played football and track in High School and later coached youth football. Philip’s love of gardening was a lifelong passion. He will be dearly missed.

Besides his beloved wife, Beverly, he is survived by his loving children; Kevin P. Sirois of Manhattan, New York, Gail P and her husband Jeffery M. Haynes of Pembroke, New Hampshire, Paul K. and his wife Lisa R. Sirois of Rehoboth and Mary Beth and her husband David Burt of Westford, sisters; Madeline Fluet of Lawrence and Germaine Sheehan of Haverhill, bother Louis Sirois, grand children; Jamie, Jennifer, Lydia, Carla, Benjamin, Connor, Emily and Maggie and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late; Father George Sirois OMI, Sister Marie Germaine SUSC, Sister Rachel SUSC, Marguerite Beaulieu, Pauline Ichton, John Sirois, Joseph Sirois, Vincent Sirois, Martha Marchand and Francis Sirois.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be held in the West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover. Donations in Philip's memory may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 72 E. Concord Street, Boston, MA 02118.
