Costello, Paul A. age 90 of Canton, formerly of Quincy and Dorchester passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family February 6th. Born in Boston, he was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Boston English High School, Suffolk University and was a Marine Corp Veteran of WW II. He worked as a U.S. Customs Agent for 37 years, retiring in 1994. Beloved husband of Marie J. (Cassidy). Devoted father of Maureen A. Costello – Shea and her husband Daniel of Raymond, NH, Paul J. Costello and his wife Barbara of Haverhill, Brian F. Costello and his wife Megan of Acton and Joan Marie Herrity and her husband John of Weymouth. Cherished grandfather of Joanne Shea and husband Gavan Vogler , Timothy Shea, all of NY, Kathryn Walker and husband Dustin of Washington, DC, Sarah Costello of Tampa, Kevin Costello of Haverhill, Emma, James and Shaun Costello of Acton and Julia Herrity of Orlando. Brother of the late Joseph P. Costello. Uncle of Margaret Sherrer of R.I.

Paul was the world's greatest whose motto was"life is beautiful". A kind and gentle man and loyal friend, he leaves behind many cherished friendships including his oldest and dearest friends, Bob and Joan Shea of Marshfield and his adopted brother and sister, Jimmy and Kitty Harlen of West Roxbury. Paul's greatest hobbies were traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He and Marie enjoyed cruising, trips across the US and Europe and weekends away with their Saturday night dinner crowd. Paul took great pride in the happiness and success of his children, grandchildren and extended family. He loved sharing stories about their adventures and accomplishments with his friends.

Paul enjoyed spending his last two years at Cornerstones at Canton where he reveled in the social activities and explored new hobbies including acting and singing. He loved daily current events discussions which he always peppered with political discussions. He loved and appreciated all the Staff and the Cornerstones Community.

A Patriots fan to the end, Paul spent his last evening listening to the Super Bowl game with members of his family.

Funeral Mass at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Saturday morning at 10:30 am. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Friday, 4 to 8 PM.
