CHICOPEE – Patricia A. Metras, 71, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at West Springfield surrounded by all the memories that she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on February 21, 1945, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph E. Metras who was Called Home on August 31, 1991 and Evelyn B. (Spillane) Metras who was Called Home on February 28, 2004. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. She was employed for many years as an inspector at the former A.G. Spalding Company in Willimansett. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, visiting Foxwoods Casino and attending many local bingo games. An avid New England sports fan, she enjoyed rooting for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving sister, Joanne S. McLaughlin who was Called Home on October 20, 1998. She leaves her three loving brothers, Warren K. Metras and his wife, Gerri, of Springfield and Kevin M. Metras and his wife, Sandra, and Brian D. Metras and his wife, Linda, all of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Metras and Spillane families. Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located at the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
