Earle T. Fettig, age 58, of Norton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on March 28, 1958, he was a loving of Elsie (Yourston) Fettig of Canada and the late Thomas Fettig.

Earle grew up and was educated in Canada. He later moved to the United States, where he attended MIT and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University.

Earle was a flooring specialist at the Home Depot in Mansfield and had previously been employed at the company’s Natick location. He formerly worked as a computer engineer at Digital Corporation.

Earle’s passion in life was running. He was an enthusiastic member of the Colonial Road Runners and the Attleboro YMCA Run Club. His proudest accomplishment as a running was completing eight Marine Corps Marathons.

He had made his home in Norton for the past five years and previously resided in Westborough. Earle loved military history and aviation, and was an expert on the subject of WWII. He also enjoyed keeping up to date on current technology, computer programming, spending time with family and was quite proud of his Canadian heritage.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his longtime partner Lauren M. Bukowski and her sons Chris, Matt and Robby all of Norton. He is also survived by his daughter Leila Fettig, sons Zaccur and Rabi Fettig, his brother Lorne Fettig of Canada and his former wife Naila Beg.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to a attend a service in celebration of his life on Friday, February 3rd at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be private.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 2nd from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, it would be preferred that donations in Earle’s memory be made to the Attleboro YMCA, 63 North Main St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
