Obituary

NATICK: Kenneth Alexander Wilson, age 84, died peacefully on Monday afternoon, January 23, 2017, at the Veterans Medical Center in Bedford, MA. He was the devoted husband of Nancy E. Wilson for 54 years.

Born in New Rochelle, New York, he was the son of the late Charles and Phyllis (Herron) Wilson. Ken was raised in Hawthorne, NY and after graduating from New Rochelle High School joined the Navy. He served overseas with the rank of ET2 on a Destroyer Tender during the Korean War.

Following the war Ken moved to Boston to pursue his studies in Electrical Engineering at MIT. He met Nancy at Trinity Episcopal Church of Boston and they were married there in 1962. They lived on Long Island, NY where they had their four children and then returned to the Boston area living in Lexington for 30 years, eventually settling in Natick until the time of his passing. Ken enjoyed music, singing and playing the keyboard every opportunity he had. A problem solver and creator, he held numerous patents at work and enjoyed building gadgets for his home.

His combination of caring and brilliance was unique, and missed by his family after Alzheimer’s progressed 4 years ago. They are comforted knowing he is now at peace with all his memories and music once again.

He is survived by Nancy; their sons Thomas Wilson of Jersey City, NJ, and James A. Everett-Wilson and his wife Andrea, Douglas A. Wilson and his wife Kristine; and daughter Sarah W. Barnes and her husband Mark all of Natick; and six grandchildren, Benjamin Everett-Wilson, Maya Everett-Wilson, Alexander Barnes, Katrina Barnes, Branch Barnes and Max Wilson, all of Natick.

A Memorial Service will be held in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 39 East Central Street, Natick, on Saturday, January 28th at 10:30am. Burial with military honors was private.
