MURRAY, Francis X. Of South Boston has peacefully gone to heaven on January 21, 2017. He was the son of late Francis D. and Mary Rita (Conley) Murray born March 29, 1929. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria B. (Petrie) Murray, son Joseph G. Murray, granddaughter Amanda L. Murray; brother William D. Murray; sister Mary R. (Murray) McKeon. Loved by his all his family, his children Francis Murray, Jr., Sharon Murray, Thomas Murray, Mary Young, Judith Stevens, Kimberly Murray and Margaret Carini. 10 Grandchildren Michael, Steven & Zachary Young; Frank III, Patrick, Colleen, Tara, Shawn, Joseph & Tommylee Murray. 5 Great grandchildren Olivia, Adrianna, Xavier, Joseph and Jason and many nieces and nephews.
He Served in the Army during World War II in Japan and the Navy during Korean War aboard the USS Leyte and the USS Briareus. He lived his life like his favorite song Born Free.
Visiting hours at the P.E. Murray-F.J. Higgins George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, Saturday, Jan. 28 from 2-5pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment will be held at a later date in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
