Obituary

Dr. Anthony (Tony) Capobianco formerly of Natick, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at his beloved Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, MA.

Tony is survived by his four sons and their spouses: David and Kim Capobianco of Boston; Jack and Jennifer Capobianco of Mendon; Paul Capobianco and Karen Lindsay of Dedham; James and Rachel Capobianco of Colchester, VT. He is also survived by his six grandsons: Andrew, Grady, Connor, Hunter, Tucker, and Max. His surviving siblings are Nancy Capobianco of Shrewsbury and Robert R. Capobianco of Harvard. He was loved by many nieces and nephews.

Tony is remembered as a dedicated physician and family man who had relentless energy to better this world, an unwavering dedication to serving others, and shared his faith in God with all those he encountered in life.

Tony was born in Somerville, MA to Salvatore and Santina (Grassia) Capobianco. After high school he graduated from Tufts University, followed by Georgetown Medical School. He married Eileen MacIntosh in 1955 and, after serving in the Air Force at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona, he and Eileen lived in Natick, raising their four boys from 1959 to 1995. Tony was dedicated to the expansion and growth of the Leonard Morse Hospital (now known as MetroWest Medical Center) where he practiced medicine from 1959 to 1998. He also spent time in Falmouth, MA and Naples, FL. Tony had many friendships that reach around the globe, and he never hesitated to give his time and energies to anyone in need. With all the demands on his life, he was forever devoted to his family. He was our rudder, steering our lives ever forward with endless possibilities.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 28th in St. Matthew’s Church, 105 Southville Road, Southborough. All are invited to the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common at 8:45 A.M. to pay respects and to process to church with the family. A reception will follow the Mass in the adjacent hall of the Church. Private burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Visiting hours are Friday, January 27 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M at the Funeral Home.
