Charles Norman Cooper, age 87, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. He was born October 27, 1929 in Water Valley to the late Norman Braxton Cooper and Mary Elizabeth Badley Lawson. Charles served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and later worked as an insurance agent. He was a member of Jumpers Chapel Methodist Church and enjoyed singing, reading, playing music at the nursing home and writing articles for the North MS Herald.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Charles is survived by his wife of 48 years, Enriqueta Ortiz Cooper of Water Valley; his daughter, Terri Cooper Dunham (Ricky) of Marked Tree, AR; his son, Jamie Cooper of Portland, OR; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Marie Cooper and Shelby Rebecca Doyle; one great-granddaughter, Sofia Delilah Blackstock; and one great-grandson, Edward Elric Chisolm. | ||||
