Robert "Bobby" Ray Moore Obituary - Water Valley MS

Robert “Bobby” Ray Moore, age 80, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born October 3, 1936 in Big Creek, MS to the late Troy Green and Mattie Trusty Moore. Bobby enjoyed coaching softball, gardening, hunting rabbit and quail, driving his tractor and other heavy equipment, cutting hay, and riding horses. He was an active member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church and an avid Ole Miss basketball fan. Bobby retired from Borg-Warner as Production Supervisor after 28 years of service. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Shane Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery with Larry Sprouse, Chris McCluskey, Herbie Rogers, Kenny James, Travis Brooks, and Warren Truss serving as pallbearers.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Shirley Martin Moore of Water Valley, MS; two daughters, Kathy (Buddy) Edwards and Bee Moore all of Water Valley, MS; one sister, Sarah Moore (J.T.) Martin of Coffeeville, MS; his granddaughter, Dr. Megan Edwards (Blake) Hodge of Ridgeland, MS; and his great-granddaughter, Laykin Brett Hodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Fay Kendall; and two brothers, Walter Lamar Moore and Harry David Moore.
