Mrunalini P. Chemburkar, 78

Mrunalini P. (Bhatte) Chemburkar, age 78, of North Easton, formerly of Princeton, New Jersey passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

She was the beloved wife of the late Pramod B. Chemburkar, to whom she was wed for fifty-four years at the time of his death on September 7, 2016.

She was born in Thane, India on February 5, 1938. She grew up and was educated in India and prior to being married was an elementary school teacher in India.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Chemburkar had been employed as a Computer Administrator at Berlex Laboratories Inc. in New Jersey and formerly worked at G.D. Searle in Chicago and served as a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family.

Mrunalini was an active member and officer of Marathi Vishwa, where she was instrumental in building the new community center and served as a former treasurer. She was also an active member of the Bhishi Women’s Club.

For the past seven months, Mrunalini had made her home at the Residence at Five Corners in North Easton and had previously resided in Princeton, New Jersey. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, computers, traveling and most of all, spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted sons Yogen P. Chemburkar and his wife Terri of Mansfield and Dipen P. Chemburkar of Cambridge. She was the cherished grandmother of Meg, Jonathan and Hannah Chemburkar. She is also survived by one sister, and two brothers in India and was predeceased by one brother and one sister

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a traditional Hindu ceremony on Tuesday, January 17th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Cremation will follow at the North Purchase Crematory in Attleboro.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, prior to the services beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrunalini’s memory may be made to the ALS Association, 315 Norwood Park South, 1st Floor, Norwood, MA 02062.
