Edward L. Noonan, 65

Edward L. Noonan, age 65, of Middleboro, formerly of Mansfield passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.

Born in Needham, MA on June 10, 1951. He was a son of the late John W., Sr. and Ruth L. (Donati) Noonan. He grew up in Mansfield and was a 1968 graduate of Mansfield High School.

During the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged from active duty on September 24, 1971 with the rank of Private First Class.

Edward was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Bruins fan. He especially loved spending time with his cherished grandson.

He is survived by his daughters Katrina B. Bernard and her fiancé Kevin K. Lock of Middleboro and Erin L. Noonan of Middleboro. He was the grandfather of Jaycen M. Hamlin. He was the brother of Mary Ellen Stentiford of Norton, Michael P. Noonan of Norton, Judith Harnum of Florida, Donna Horne of Norton, and the late William M. Noonan, John W. Noonan, Jr. and Kevin T. Noonan. He was the former husband of Nancey E. Bernard of Middleboro, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, services and burial will be private and visiting hours have been omitted.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
