BRAZIL, Mary J. (Cannava) 87, formerly of Wellesley and Needham passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, 2017 at St. Patrick's Manor in Framingham. Born and raised in Boston, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Riera) Cannava. Mary is survived by her son John Brazil, Jr. and his wife Myra of Holliston and daughters Jean Tulin of Saratoga Springs, NY, Sara Leicht and her husband Greg of Sarasota, FL, Debbie Goldstein of Cincinnati, OH and 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her daughter Mary Jane Brazil and former husband John Brazil, Sr. along with her brothers Santo, Angelo, John, and Robert Cannava. Mary raised her family in Wellesley and worked at the Towns Clerks Office for many years before retiring to Needham. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty and Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St, (Route 16) WELLESLEY Saturday at 11:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul's Church, Wellesley at 12 noon. Visitation prior to mass in the funeral home from 9:30-11:30 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary's memory to St. Patrick's Manor, 863 Central St, Framingham, MA 01701-1892.
