Ruth L. Boynton, 88

Ruth L. (Follett) Boynton, age 88, of Mansfield passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin C. Boynton.

Born in Norwood, MA on March 24, 1928, she was a loving daughter of the late Benjamin, Sr. and Lillian (Barstch) Follett.

Ruth grew up in Walpole and was a graduate of Walpole High School. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past seventy years and was an inspector at the Augat Company in North Attleboro, where she had worked for twenty-two years prior to her retiring in 1992.

Mrs. Boynton was a member of the Emblem Club in Mansfield, was active at the Mansfield Senior Center and a former member of the Mansfield Congregational Church. She loved spending time with family and friends alike, and her hobbies included knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by her devoted children Lester F. Boynton and his wife Karen of Las Vegas, Nevada, Gerald A. Boynton and his wife Kathleen of Republic, Washington and the late Linda L. Bradbury. She was the dear sister of Muriel Flower of Foxborough, Robert Follett of South Walpole, Patricia Hedderig of Foxborough, Paul Follett of North Attleboro, Doris Monteiro of Attleboro, and the late Benjamin Follett, Jr. and Marjorie Patten. She is also survived by her cherished 7 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 2 great-great granddaughters, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, January 6th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 5th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
