Patricia M. (O’Neill) Tynan, age 93, a resident of the Village at Willow Crossings in Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 22, 2016.

She was the beloved wife of the late retired United States Army Colonel James D. Tynan, to whom she was wed for sixty-seven years at the time of his death on December 11, 2013.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1923, she was a loving daughter of the late Thomas P. and Agnes (Moore) O’Neill.

Pat grew up and was educated in Philadelphia. She furthered her studies at Germantown Hospital School of Nursing where she received her diploma and became a Registered Nurse. She loved working with the elderly and continued her education becoming a Certified Geriatric Nurse

Pat had formerly been employed as a Nursing Supervisor at the Marion Manor Nursing Home in Taunton and was also proud to have worked for 5 months with Mother Theresa in Calcutta. Pat lived by the words of Mother Teresa:" As a nurse, it doesn't matter what we do, where we do it or who we help, it is how much love we put into it".

Being the wife of an Army Colonel, Pat traveled and lived throughout the world. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past eight years and previously lived in Devon, Pennsylvania.

While living in Mansfield, Pat had attended St. Mary’s Church. Times spent with family were quite special to her and she was a passionate reader.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children Patricia A. Daoust and her husband Paul of Boston and Timothy A. Tynan of Pottstown, Pennsylvania. She was adoring granny of Michael Daoust and his wife Lynn, Mark Daoust and his wife Shawna, Erin Comella and her husband Greg, Brian Daoust and his wife Marzi, and Kate Borrero and her husband Gustavo. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and sister-in-laws Helen O’Neill and Millie O’Neill. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Joseph O’Neill and Thomas O’Neill.

Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, December 29th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia along side her husband.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 28th from 3-4:30 at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
