GORMAN, Mary Louise (Kelly) of West Roxbury and formerly of Weston, MA age 86 passed away peacefully on October 24, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Linus and Nelly Kelly. She was the beloved wife of the late James “Lou” Gorman former Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Boston Red Sox. Mary Lou was raised in Washington DC and is a graduate of Trinity College (DC). Mary Lou was involved in many charities in Baltimore, Seattle, Kansas City and Boston as she followed her husband’s baseball career. She was a volunteer for the USO in Newport, RI and a dedicated Eucharistic Minister at St. Julia Parish in Weston. Mary Lou was an avid reader and enjoyed her winter stays in Longboat Key, FL. An only child she is survived by her sisters-in-law Virginia L. (Gorman) Moran of Narragansett, RI and Tina Gorman of Shrewsbury, MA. Also survived by nieces and nephews Doreen and Tom “TD” Dougherty of West Roxbury, Kathleen and Michael Rocchio of East Greenwich, RI, Karen and the late Robert LaRoche of Saunderstown, RI, Gale and Michael Rider of Ohio and David and Stephen Desrochers of FL. She is also survived by cousins and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Thursday, October 27th at 10:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa of Avila Church at 11:30 am. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
