Brenda Lantrip Newman Obituary - Water Valley MS

Brenda Lantrip Newman, age 59, died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born January 21, 1957 in Water Valley, MS to the late Frank, Jr. and Margaret Earley Lantrip. Brenda was a 1975 graduate of Water Valley High School and a member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church. She was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed taking trips with her best friend Gayle and their weekly jaunts to Krispy Kreme for donuts. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Brenda had a great personality, a generous heart and will be missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (on Hwy 32 between Water Valley and Bruce) with Bro. Fred Eakes officiating. Elton Newman, William McCachren, David Johnson, Robbie Ashford, Aaron Dewberry and Brandon Crocker will serve as pallbearers.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Cindi Newman of Water Valley, MS; her son, Elton (Acacia) Newman of Water Valley, MS; her step-daughter, Michelle (Glen) Dickerson of Moss Point, MS; her step-son, Michael (Tricia) Newman of Starkville, MS; her sister, Sheila (Billy) Butts of Water Valley, MS; four grandchildren, Olivia Newman Dewberry, Easton Lane Newman, Cambria Summer and Robbie Anderson; five step-grandchildren, Erin Livingston, Benjamin Newman, Mary Megan Dickerson, Seth Dickerson, and Brandt Dickerson; one step great-granddaughter, Genevieve Livingston; two nieces, Tiffanie Eubanks and Stephanie Banton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Edward Lowry Newman, Jr.
