Margaret Ann Jones Schmitz Obituary - Water Valley MS

Margaret Ann Jones Schmitz, age 85 of Water Valley, MS died Saturday, October 1, 2016 , at her home. Born in Coffeeville, MS on May 31, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Birdie Elizabeth Gardner Jones. Ann was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Water Valley and was a member of the Pink Ladies Volunteer Group at the Yalobusha Nursing Home. She drove a school bus many years and also worked in the school cafeteria. She enjoyed gardening and cooking wonderful meals for her family.

Visitation is planned for Monday, October 3, 2016 from 5 until 7 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, October 4 at 2 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Bill Forsyth officiating. Burial will follow the service in Elam Cemetery in Coffeeville, MS with Sterling Schmitz, Donnie Schmitz, Allen Schmitz, Brian Schmitz, Gregory Schmitz, Joshua Snider, Jackson Schmitz, and Samuel Schmitz serving as pallbearers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Whittaker Schmitz; two sisters, Maxine Tharp and Elizabeth Jones; and one brother, Ralph Jones.

Ann is survived by a daughter, Jane Schmitz Snider (Gary) of Water Valley, MS; four sons, Jerry Schmitz of Pontotoc, MS; Calvin Schmitz (Joyce) of Water Valley, MS, Barry Schmitz of Houston, MS, and Michael Schmitz (Gina) of Water Valley, MS; two brothers, Raymond Jones of Grenada, MS and Harold Jones of Jefferson City, MO; sixteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
