Grace Esylena Douglas, 98, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Shady Pines Assisted Living in Abbeville, Georgia.
Gravesides services will be held 2 PM, Friday, September 23, 2016, at Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville, Georgia, with the Rev. Tom Braziel officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until the service hour, at the cemetery.
Mrs. Douglas was born November 16, 1917, in Kite, Georgia, to the late Charles E. & Jennie Lynn Powell Colston. She graduated from Kite High School and later graduated from Macon Business School in Macon, Georgia. Mrs. Douglas was a homemaker and was a former secretary for AAA Farm Program. She was a member of the Young at Heart Seniors and also a member of the First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, where she attended the Rebekah Sunday School class.
She is survived by her two daughters: Sandra D. Balyeat & husband Ralph of Florida and Sheryl D. Johnson & husband H. L. of Abbeville; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years: Carl E. Douglas.
