Emmet E. Bailey, age 95, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the MS State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. He was born May 15, 1921 in Russellville, KY to the late Elvie Earmon and Rebecca Brown Bailey. Emmet served in the United States Navy during WWII and retired as an equipment operator with Corp of Engineers. He was a member of the Coffeeville Church of Christ and enjoyed working, farming and gardening.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Burial will be in the Coffeeville City Cemetery. Emmet is survived by his daughter, Linda M. Bailey of Palisade, CO; his two sons, Jerry Bailey of Water Valley, MS and Ron Bailey of Olive Branch, MS; and his sister, Louvina Box of Exeter, CA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Lorraine Ruth Nagel Bailey; and his daughter, Janie Bailey. | ||||
