Daniel A. McDonald, age 89, of Water Valley, MS died Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Trace Regional Hospital in Houston, MS. He was born January 8, 1927 in Water Valley to the late Alvie and Govie Jenkins McDonald. Daniel was a member of First United Methodist Church of Water Valley, the VFW and the Odd Fellows. He was a retired Kardex Clerk for Kimberly Clark Corporation, was an avid bingo player, enjoyed playing golf, walking, and spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am on Friday, September 9, 2016 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Daniel is survived by four sons, Richard (Karen) McDonald of Olive Branch, MS, Mike (Elaine) McDonald of Memphis, TN, Gary (Kathy) McDonald of Bartlett, TN, and Rodney (Bonnie) McDonald of Hernando, MS; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Moore McDonald; and his grandson, Billy Joe McDonald. | ||||
