Kathy-Ann (Fitzgibbon) DiRado, age 54, of Mansfield, formerly of Dedham, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Gerardo “Jerry” DiRado, to whom she was wed on May 7, 1988.

Born in Boston, MA on June 9, 1962, she was a loving daughter of Patricia A. (Morley) Fitzgibbon of Dedham and the late Joseph M. Fitzgibbon.

Kathy-Ann grew up in Dedham and was a 1980 graduate of Dedham High School. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past 18 years and was a former longtime resident of Dedham.

Kathy-Ann loved being a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family. She also had a successful career at Bay Bank in Westwood, climbing the corporate ladder to the position of a Senior Administrator.

She, along with her family, attended St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She especially enjoyed gardening, photography, family vacations spent at New Seabury on beautiful Cape Cod, and being a loyal and avid fan of the New England Patriots.

In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her loving and devoted children Kristina P. DiRado and Jerard J. DiRado both of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of Kevin G. Fitzgibbon, Sr. of Dedham and his former wife Linda of Foxboro, Mary-Pat Hurley and her husband Michael of Abington, Michael J. Fitzgibbon and his wife Lisa of Norwood, and Maureen E. Nigrini and her husband Stephen of Virginia. She was the beloved aunt of Kevin Fitzgibbon, Jr., Shaun Fitzgibbon, Jennifer Lipollis, Matthew Fitzgibbon, Joseph Fitzgibbon, Whitney Fitzgibbon, Catherine Hurley, Maura Hurley, Isabella DiRado and Max DiRado. She was the loving niece of Karen Harland and husband Charles, and the dear daughter-in-law of Vincenzo and Paulina DiRado of Braintree.

Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, September 8th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 7th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

In place of flowers, Kathy-Ann’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Boston Children’s Hospital: Department of Cardiology, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
