Henrietta J. Drummond, 89, of Ocilla, died Friday, August 19, 2016, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Drummond was born December 1, 1926, in Chatham County, Georgia, to the late R.R. & Wilhemina Dilbon Jackson. At an early age, she lived in Virginia and Pennsylvania. She returned to Georgia and began her 3rd grade education at Holt School. A 1944 graduate of Ocilla High School, Mrs. Drummond formerly worked at McClelland’s 5 & 10. She also worked for the USDA, as a receptionist for Dr. Luckie, and taught school for 10 years at Ben Hill Elementary and Ben Hill Middle. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two grandchildren, Jimmie Frank Drummond of Fitzgerald and Nicole Drummond of Fitzgerald; and four great-grandchildren: Kaylee Quattlebaum, Karli Quattlebaum, Kaigen Quattlebaum, and Jaydin Dubreuiel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Frank Drummond and their son Myron F. “Toddy” Drummond.
