In Boston, of Taunton August 17, 2016 Deirdre M. (Bresnahan) Butler wife of William Butler died after a long illness at Massachusetts General Hospital at the age of 75. Born in Dighton, Deirdre was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Corrigan) Bresnahan. Deirdre was a retired letter carrier for the US Postal Office and she also was a switch board operator for Taunton State Hospital and a Teachers Aid for the Taunton Schools system. She was a former leader of the Immaculate Conception Youth Group. Deirdre enjoyed artwork, painting pastels, Crafting, Gardening, going to yard sales, spending time at her home in New Hampshire and especially being with her grandchildren. She was the mother of Colleen Butler of San Francisco, CA and William Butler Jr. and his wife Sheryl of Taunton. Grandmother of Brooke and William Butler III both of Taunton. Sister of the late William and Margot Bresnahan. Aunt of Sean and Brian Bresnahan both of Taunton. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton Wednesday, August 24th from 9-10:30 AM. A Mass will be held at St Mary’s Church in Taunton at 11 AM. Interment St Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
