WORCESTER-Irene V. (Derosier) Woods, 88, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Beaumont of Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Joseph D. Woods in 2003 and her son, David J. Woods in 2012.
She is survived by three children, Russell A. Woods, Deborah A. Hunt and her husband Thomas and Donna M. Ryan and her husband James, all of Worcester; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Henry and Cora (Goodwin) Derosier.
Irene worked at Vellumoid Incorporated for many years before retiring. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Irene had a great love for her family and spending time together was very important, especially the Sunday afternoon dinners.
Irene’s family would like to thank the nurses, staff and VNA Care Hospice team at Beaumont for the excellent care in which they provided.
Funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
