Brian M. Shea, age 68, of Attleboro passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Angela (Montenegro) Shea, to whom he was wed on July 14, 1973.
Born in Medford, MA on January 23, 1948, he was a loving son of the late Edward D. and Katherine (Regan) Shea.
Brian grew up and was educated in Melrose, and was a graduate of Melrose High School. He furthered his education, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Tufts University and later received his Masters Degree in School Psychology from the University of Rhode Island.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Shea was employed for many years as a School Psychologist for the East Providence School System and was a member of the Rhode Island Teachers Association.
Brian had made his home in Attleboro for the past forty-one years. When not spending time with his adoring family, his passion in life was golf. He also enjoyed listening to music, jazz being his favorite.
In addition to his wife of 43 years, he is survived by his devoted son Brendan M. Shea and his wife Melissa Radzyminski of Medford. He is also survived by his siblings Barbara McDonnell and her husband Russell of Malden, Christopher Shea and his wife Beverly of Weymouth and Trish Westover and her husband Larry of Nashua, NH.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 17th at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose. Burial will follow at the Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 16th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Brian’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St., Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611.
