AUBURN — Russell W. Hanson, 78, formerly of Hampden St., passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Life Care Center of Auburn.
He was born in Worcester on January 18, 1938 a son of the late Linus R. and Helen F. (Sanford) Hanson. He was a graduate of Auburn High School Class of 1956. For many years Mr. Hanson worked at Mass Wholesale and for TJ Maxx where he re¬tired from.
He enjoyed watching sports and was a avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Mr. Hanson also enjoyed trips to the racetrack to watch horse racing.
Mr. Hanson leaves behind his sister-in-law, Kay Hanson, wife of the late Paul Hanson; a nephew, Kurt Hanson and his wife Paula of Worcester and three cousins, Avis Landgren of Worcester; Mary Lou Peterson of Sutton and Dick Hanson of Rhode Island; and his close friends Paul, Kathy, Katie.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of LINDQUIST-LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester.
