George “David” Williams, Sr., age 55, died Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his home in Oakland, MS. He was born September 30, 1960 in Memphis, TN to the late Cecil and Mary Lauderdale Williams. David was employed for many years as a factory worker, and enjoyed mechanic work, working in his yard and gardening until his health failed. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed watching westerns and game shows on TV and spending time with his family and friends. David was a member of New Life Fellowship Baptist Church in Oakland, MS.
David is survived by his wife, Dorothy Barker Williams of Oakland, MS; his daughters, Tammy (Elvis) Maglothin and Ruth (Benji) Hayward all of Grenada, MS; his son, George David (Sarah) Williams, Jr. of Senatobia, MS; his brother, Mark (Jonnie) Williams of AR; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at New Life Fellowship Baptist Church in Oakland, MS with Bro. Ricky Boyett officiating. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley, MS is in charge of arrangements. | ||||
