Irene Green, age 96, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford, MS. She was born April 7, 1920 in Lafayette County, MS to the late Emerzier “Babe” and Minnie Bell Brewer Green. Irene graduated Taylor High School as Valedictorian of her class and worked for several years at Blaylock Drugs in Oxford. She loved her family and lived with her parents, caring for them until their death. Irene was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church and she enjoyed reading.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 30, 2016 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS with Bro. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Flat Cemetery in Lafayette County. Irene outlived all of her siblings and close relatives. She is survived by her cousins, Delain Green and his wife, Nell and Vicki Ferguson and her husband, Don all of Lafayette County, MS. | ||||
