Obituary

WORCESTER: Francis A. Kubik, 82, formerly of Wakefield St., died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Westborough.

He leaves his sister, Virginia M. Petronio of Shrewsbury; his brother, Richard W. Kubik of Worcester; five nieces and nephews, Joan Hatfield and her husband Christopher of Framingham, Susan Petronio of Crested Butte, CO, Lynda Forney of Waltham, Virginia Kilroy and her husband Scott of Flushing, NY; James Petronio and his companion Jennifer of Worcester; and several great nieces and great nephews. His nephew, Gregory Petronio, predeceased him.

He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Frank and Sophie (Jaso) Kubik, graduated from Commerce High School, and was a United States Army Veteran.

Fran was a sales clerk at Spag’s and Building 19 in Shrewsbury where he worked for many years. He also worked at Stop & Shop until he retired. He was a long time active member of St. Bernard’s Church, now known as Our Lady of Providence Parish. He enjoyed growing flowers and plants and sharing them with family and friends. He will be remembered for his generosity and missed by all those who knew him.

CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on SUNDAY, JULY 24, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 a.m. on MONDAY, JULY 25 in ST. BERNARD’S CHURCH, 228 Lincoln St., followed by burial in St. Joseph Garden of Peace in Webster, MA.
