Eloise V. “Mem” (Leroux) Allard, age 94, of Norton, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo A. Allard who died in 1977.

Born in Attleboro, MA on July 10, 1922, she was a loving daughter of the late Peter and Lunia (Gagner) Leroux.

Eloise grew up and was educated in Norton. Prior to retiring Mrs. Allard had worked as an epoxy enameller at the Foxboro Co. She had previously been employed in the disc department at the former Texas Instruments and also worked at the former Ricootti’s Sub Shop in Attleboro and the former Defiance Bleachery in Norton.

Eloise was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and when younger, had volunteered with the Girl Scouts at Camp Edith Read in Norton and at Camp Shady Pines in North Attleboro.

Mrs. Allard’s favorite times were those surrounded by her adoring family, especially with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening, picking blueberries, crocheting, backyard bird watching and listening to the Lawrence Welk.

She is survived by her devoted children Karen A. Baird of Norton, Sandra E. Carusone and her husband Chuck of Norton, and the late Donald Allard and Richard P. “Dicky” Allard. She was the dear sister of the late Dolores Lange and Brother Philip Leroux, SC. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Monica, Corey, Sabrina, Justin, Dawn, DJ, Tara and Chyanne, as well as her 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday, July 23rd at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery Cemetery in Norton.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 22nd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.

In lieu of flowers, Eloise’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Provincial House, 685 Steere Farm Road, Pascoag, RI 02859.
