Devoted grandfather of Heather, John, Erica, Kara, and the late Steven and Matthew Megnia. Great grandfather of Jacob, Michael, Katelyn, Elizabeth, Ava and Kate. Beloved son of the John and Catherine Megnia (Murphy). Brother of Frank and Betty Megnia of Dedham, Carol and the late William Bray of Quincy, Patricia (Megnia) and Robert L. Cabral of Dorchester, and the late Robert and Josie Megnia. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Wednesday, July 20 at 9am. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Fairview Cemetery. Jake was a dedicated Boston Police Officer for 43 years from Nov. 2 1949 to Feb. 25, 1992.
