Mary Bonner Stark, age 95, formerly of Water Valley, MS died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at University Health Monroe in Monroe, LA. She was born March 8, 1921 in Batesville, MS to the late John and Louie Childress Bonner. After graduating high school, Mary worked as an airplane mechanic for Delta Airlines. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Water Valley, MS. After WWII she owned and managed a general store until her second child was born, then she stayed home to be a housewife and mother. Since 1994 Mary has resided at Arbor Lake Nursing Home in Farmerville, LA where she enjoyed playing Bingo, Dominos, and singing gospel music for the residents of the nursing home. She loved her family, but most of all she loved the Lord.
A visitation will be held Monday, July 18, 2016 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Rev. Paul Ford and Rev. David Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Mary is survived by her daughter, Ann (Larry) Carr of Water Valley, MS; her sons, John (Judy) Stark of Guntown, MS, Albert Stark of Farmerville, LA, Moses Stark of Baldwyn, MS, and Elias Stark of Guntown, MS; eight grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Stark; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Mallard; her sister, Chloe Hall; her brothers, Rhodes Bonner, John Bonner, Lamar Bonner, Arthur Bonner, and Herman Bonner; and two grandchildren, Cheryl Mallard and Megan Stark. | ||||
