Christine Felske, 95

Christine “Chrissy” (Johanson) Felske, age 95, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Epoch/Wingate, Norton, MA.
Born in Sweden, she came to the United States at a young age with her parents, living in the greater Boston area throughout her early years. Most recently, Christine had been a resident of the Epoch facilities after living in the greater Boston area.
Most importantly, for 68 years, she was the beloved wife and partner of William, who predeceased her in 2014.
After graduating from Winchester High School, MA, Christine worked at John Hancock in Boston. Later with a family, her life’s work included various volunteer jobs as she maintained a household. Christine greatly enjoyed her children and grandchildren, always asking during visits “What’s new?”.
She is survived by her son William and his wife Helen of West Warwick, RI, her daughter Joy Adams and her husband John of Norton, MA, and her daughter Ann Gauvin and her husband David of Peoria, AZ. Grandchildren Candice Shin and her husband Andy, Andrew Gauvin, Amy Gauvin, Benjamin Adams, and Catherine Adams shared many days and family events with their grandparents.
With her quiet humor and endless supply of kindness, Christine showed us many of life's great lessons. The Swedish word Ljuv is the perfect description of the life of Christine "Chrissy" Johansen; she will be remembered for her strong, kind and loving spirit, which was with her to the end.
Her family will be forever grateful for the wonderful care and support provided to both Christine and Bill by the staff of Epoch/Wingate, Norton; during the last months of her life, Compassionate Care Hospice added to that care with their amazing staff.
A private service will be held in Cheshire, CT at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
