Jerilyn C. “Jeri” (Essex) Ryan, age 63, of Mansfield passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
She was the beloved wife of the late John T. “Jack” Ryan, Sr., to whom she was wed for 34 years at the time of his death on January 24, 2013.
Born in Boston, MA on April 28, 1953, she was a loving daughter of the late Richard and Charlotte (Roussel) Essex. She grew up in Dedham and was a 1971 graduate of Dedham High School.
Mrs. Ryan had most recently worked at Roche Brothers Supermarket in Easton and had previously been employed for thirty years at John Hancock Insurance. She also enjoyed working part time as a customer service representative at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
A resident of Mansfield for thirty years, Jeri loved spending time with family and friends alike. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her devoted children Kelly M. Westerkamp and her husband Greg of Virginia and Sean P. Ryan of South Boston. Her stepchildren John Ryan, Jr., David Ryan, Michelle Ryan and Kristy Ryan. She was the dear sister of Jeanne Tannetta of Stoughton, Doris Mahoney of Foxboro and the late Isabelle “Mickie” Petto. She is also survived by her step grandchildren Jennah, Breanne and Noah, as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, July 15th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will be private.
