Sandra L. Franey, 70

Sandra L. Franey, age 70, of Mansfield, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.

Born in Attleboro, MA on January 4, 1946, she was a loving daughter of the late Myles C. and Thelma L. (Sankey) Franey.

Sandra grew up in Mansfield and was a 1964 graduate of Mansfield High School, where she was a member of the Drill Team. She had made her home in Mansfield for most of her life and had also resided in Ontario, California.

Sandra had worked for several years as a claims adjuster for One Beacon Insurance in Foxboro, and previously as a realtor for DeWolf in Mansfield, and also at General Electric and Panasonic in Mansfield.

She enjoyed time spent with her friends, family and grandchildren. Sandra’s greatest passion in life was horses. She owned and cared for Arabian horses and was a member of the Al Khamsa Arabian Horse Association. Sandra also raised and showed champion Siberian Huskies

Sandra was a Notary Public and a former member and vice chairman of the Mansfield Board of Health. For the past 15 years, she donated her time and her donkey “Don Quixote” to La Salette Shrine in Attleboro during the Christmas holiday lighting displays.

She is survived by her devoted sons Russell C. Holske, Jr. and his wife Rosemary of Ashburn, Virginia and James M. Holske of Mission Hill. She was the dear sister of Robin M. Forget and her husband Gary of Mansfield and Rodney A. Franey and his wife Kathy of Mansfield. She was the adoring grandmother, a.k.a Pony Grandma, of Grace, Alex and Jack Holske, and is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, as well as her aunts and uncles.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, July 11th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield will be private.
