Obituary

AUBURN - Martin P. “Marty” Canty 52 of Auburn, MA, died unexpectedly on Saturday April 16th.
He is survived by his 2 children, whom he was very proud of and loved very much, Philip R. Canty and his companion Ashley Mahoney of Thompson, CT, and Lindsey M. Canty of Webster; his siblings, Sean Canty of West Roxbury, Patrick Canty of Cambridge, Colleen and Timothy Canty and Moira Cristy, of Auburn, Tara Bennett of New Braintree, Maureen Mello of Fall River, Bridget Canty of Walpole, and Shannon LaMarche of Bourne.
Martin was born in Southbridge and lived most of his life in Webster the oldest of 10 children of Philip T. and Mary C. (Moriarty) Canty. He graduated in 1982 from Marianhill High School in Southbridge.
An avid sports fan, and loyal to all of our New England teams, Martin was most well known for his dedication to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
The funeral will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street Webster, with a Mass at 9:30 A.M. in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be Friday, April 22, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Donations in Marty’s memory may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, Boston, 1 Bulfinch Pl #201, Boston, MA 02114.
