LEICESTER: Elizabeth "Betty" C. (Conrad) Jacques, 76, of Waite Street died Monday, April 5 in UMass Memorial Hospital after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 52 years, Robert J. Jacques, a son Gary W. Jacques of Sturbridge, two daughters; Elizabeth A. Jacques of Marlboro and Michelle J. Pickett and her husband Kevin of Leicester, three grandchildren; Matthew A. Jacques, Jesse C. Jacques and Ryan H. Pickett, two sisters; Roberta A. McGoff of Rochdale and Jacquelin M. Conrad of Johnston, R.I.. She was predeceased by a grandson Tyler W. Jacques, who died of complications from Cerebral Palsy.
Betty was born in Ludlow, daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth (Bown) Conrad. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, needle point and knitting. She worked for 17 years at Norton Co. before retiring.
At Betty's request no funeral services are planned and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton are private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Leicester Public Library Renovation, 1136 Main Street, Leicester, MA 01524.
