After graduating Ole Miss, Sue moved to Owensboro, KY where she met and married the love of her life, Leonard Gene Rogers, Sr. She and Leonard moved back to Oxford where they started their family. Leonard’s work as a Rural Electrification Specialist took their family to Little Rock where Sue completed her Masters Degree in Library Science, worked as the Media Specialist for the Pulaski County Special School District and served as President of the AR Library Association.

In 1993 they moved back to Oxford and Sue worked as the Librarian for the Lafayette County Schools until her retirement in 2001. After retirement, Sue became a published author of children’s books, and she enjoyed traveling with Leonard to promote her writings. In 2006 they moved to Water Valley, MS and she spent much of her time volunteering at the Library at Davidson Elementary School. Sue adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment she could spend with them. In the spring of 2011 she was introduced to her “angel dog”, Chubby, whom she loved like a child - they were inseparable.
