Imogene “Gene” Dye Peacock, age 73, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born December 4, 1942 in Bruce, MS to the late Leroy and Lavern Tallent Dye.

Gene was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Panola County, MS, the Ladies Auxillary of the VFW, and Eastern Star. She worked all her life at various jobs including Kimberly Clark Corporation in Memphis, TN. Gene enjoyed playing bingo, sewing and spending time with her family and grandson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2016 in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS.

Gene is survived by her daughter, Katrina (Anthony) Joiner of Water Valley, MS; her son, Vernon (Amber) Smith of Water Valley, MS; her sister, Nell (Troy) Montgomery of TN; her brothers, Jerry (Betty) Dye of TN, and Henry (Carolyn) Dye of Hernando, MS; and one grandson, Jeremy (Debbie) Smith of Dubai. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Maroney.
