Obituary

Clarence Oliver, 62, of Worcester, died Saturday, March 12th at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, after battling cancer for many years.  His wife and best friend, Nancy M (Biscornet) Oliver was by his side.   Clarence and Nancy were married 29 years.  He leaves 4 children, Clarence Oliver Jr., Tina Gonzalez, and Martha (Tootie) Langley all of Worcester, and Angela Langley of Orlando Florida.  He leaves 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was born in Eufaula Alabama, his father Willie James Oliver, pre-deceased him.  He leaves his mother, Willie Dell Oliver, his sister Martha Oliver and his brother Willie Oliver all of Worcester, a sister Christine Richardson two half-sisters Lannette Oliver and Charlene Oliver all of Eufaula Al.  A half-sister, Lozzie Ann Jernigan, pre-deceased him. He leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

Clarence moved to Worcester as a teenager and attended Burncoat Jr. High School.   He was always a hard worker often working two jobs at once.  As a young man he worked many years at the Reed and Prince Company as a machine operator.  Later he worked several years as a driver (drove school bus in Worcester and recycling truck in Natick).  He most recently worked as a machine operator at the TriStar Plastics Corporation in Shrewsbury, MA. until he had to leave due to his illness.

Clarence confessed his faith in Christ and joined the Covenant- St Andrews United Methodist Church in Worcester, Ma. Clarence’s two big loves in his life beside his family were fishing and playing music.  Clarence has played on several stages in Worcester over the years.  Clarence also enjoyed his many trips to the Kenmore Diner and having family cookouts in his backyard.

The family wants to thank the Rothfeld Center for their vitamin C infusion and support that the family accredits for the many months of life he had after his original diagnoses.  They also want to thank all the people who were extremely supportive during the past few months most especially the Entire staff at the Radiation Oncology unit at the Saint Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center.  Also they want to thank Revered Bond and Sister Brenda from Covenant- St Andrew United Methodist Church for their endless visits and prayer calls.   

Clarence always maintained his sense of humor regardless of the circumstances.  He will surely be missed by all, but especially by those near and dear to his heart.

Calling hours are Thursday, March 17th from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. His funeral is Friday, March 18th with a service at 10:00 A.M. in Covenant-St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 24 Hamilton Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Covenant-St Andrews United Methodist Church, 24 Hamilton Street, Worcester, MA.
