Obituary

PAXTON: Hildred E. (Drake) Burtt 91, of Ledyard Rd., died peacefully and surrounded by her entire family in Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester on Saturday, Feb. 27.
She was the wife of Arville S. Burtt who died in 1996. She leaves her four daughters Nancy C. Dickie and her husband Roger of Worcester, Norma K. Mann and her husband Robert of Oakham, Jeanne S. Welsh and her husband Jack of Paxton and Pamela B. Brunelle and her companion William Hall of W.Boylston, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Ralph Drake and a sister Norma Hodgdon.
Hildred was a longtime waitress for Friendly's Restaurant on Main St., and later at Tatnuck Square in Worcester before retiring.
She was born in New Brunswick, Canada the daughter of Kenneth Drake and Estella (Wallace) Drake Knox and later graduated from Houlton High School in Houlton, Me., in 1942.
She was a member of the Oak Hill Bible Church in Oxford. She enjoyed spending time at the Paxton Senior Center, going to the beach in Wells, Me., and winters in New Smyrna Beach, Fl.In her younger years, she spent time with family and friends camping.
Funeral services for Hildred will be held on Thursday, March 3 at 10 a.m. in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Oak Hill Bible Church, 40 Sacarrappa Rd., Oxford, 01540 or Rose Monahan Home c/o VNA Care & Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, Ma. 01608.
