Maureen T. Hallihan, 82, of West Yarmouth died peacefully Monday, February 8th with her family by her side in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. She leaves her brother, Brian M. Hallihan and his wife, Linda of Shrewsbury; beloved nieces and nephews, Timothy, Patrick, Michael, Kerry, Jamie, James, Heather, Kelly, Bryan, Brendan, Colin and Erin and many great nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Emmett and John.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of John P. and Josephine (Kiely) Hallihan and graduated from the former High School of Commerce. Maureen worked at New England Telephone Company for 35 years. She was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, South Yarmouth and its Women’s Guild. Ms. Hallihan was also a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America and a past member of the Board of Directors for AllCom Credit Union.
Calling hours are Monday, February 15th from 10:00 until 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H Putnam Road Ext., Charlton. Her funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
