Sam was a member of the Acushnet River Safe Boating Club in Fairhaven and enjoyed spending time on his boat, listening to music.
His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, for whom he dressed up as Santa at family holiday parties and on Christmas Eve, when he made his grand rounds.
He loved to cook and have his family and friends over for gatherings, travel and cruise, watch the New England Patriots, drive his Camaro, and spend time with his dog J.J.
Sam enjoyed being with his extended family, the Dias', spending time and visiting in Florida.
He was always there to help his friends and family, doing everything from handy work to snowplowing.
The family would like to thank Hospice Services of Massachusetts for their care given to Sam during his illness.
