Obituary

Frank Cleghorn, 80, of Albany, Georgia, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at his niece’s residence in Ocilla.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, February 6, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will be in Arp Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9 AM on Saturday.

Mr. Cleghorn was born December 3, 1935, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Avery & Essie Mardell Parks Cleghorn. He was a barber for over 62 years and enjoyed working with people. He loved to fish and enjoyed watching outdoor shows when he could no longer go fishing. He attended Christian Tabernacle.

He is survived by two children: Gina & David Griffis of Albany and Floyd & Melissa Paulk of Bonaire; two grandchildren; three brothers: Edward & Mity Cleghorn of Richmond Hill, Sam & Lee Ann Cleghorn of Ray City, and Ave Cleghorn, Jr., of Brunswick; two sisters: Martha Fletcher of Chula and Wynell & Bob Oliver of Warner Robins; as well as many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his niece & caregiver, Carol Dusi. The family also would like to acknowledge the excellent care Mr. Cleghorn received from nurses and aides Elaine McMillan, Samantha Rogers, Jennifer Cocchiara, and Jennifer Lowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Stephens Cleghorn; a brother, Jesse Cleghorn and six sisters: Nancy Tribble, Ruby Hall, Dora Hall, Lucile Neisler, Marie Cleghorn, and Mary Harper.
