Ruth M. (Paine) Marujo, 82, of New Bedford died February 3, 2016 at the Oaks Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Carlos Vieira Marujo.
Born in New Bedford, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Marujo was a former proprietor with her late husband of R & C Aquarium and was formerly employed by Knapp Shoe, Little People's College, Tremblay Bus and Whaling City Transportation until her retirement.
She was an active member of the Buttonwood Senior Center. She enjoyed bingo, gardening, knitting, crocheting and sewing.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Carol Werronen of McKinleyville, CA, Paula Murphy of Bristol, RI and Pauline Contois of Narragansett, RI; 2 sons, Carl Marujo of Worcester, MA and Antone Cabral of Sacramento, CA; a brother, William Powers of New Bedford; a sister, Elizabeth DeMello of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 5th at 9:30 AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
