Evelyn Nichols True, age 84, of Water Valley, MS, died Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born January 13, 1932 in Tishomingo County, MS to the late Joseph Alonzo and Lena Victoria Nichols. Evelyn was of Baptist faith and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She was employed for many years as a line worker at Rice Styx and Big Yank, and she retired from Holley Carburetor. Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed quilting, sewing, fishing and her beloved dog, Toby.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, with Bro. Fred Eakes officiating. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Howard S. True of Water Valley, MS; and her daughter, Pam Nichols and her husband, David of Water Valley, MS. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Vick; three sisters, Opal Pugh, Helen Mixon and Inez Nichols; and six brothers, Arlis Nichols, Joe Nichols, Clovis Nichols, Olen Nichols, Charles Nash Nichols and Noel Neut Nichols. | ||||
