Obituary

AUBURN-Sheila M. (Sullivan) Barter of Auburn passed away on Friday, January 22nd at home with her loving and close knit family by her side.

Sheila leaves her husband and best friend, Warren W. Barter of 56 years; three daughters Pamela wife of Gary Almstrom of Auburn, Debra wife of Joseph Mita of Paxton and Candice wife of Kirk Aubuchont of Auburn; six grandchildren, Bryan, Kayla, Nathan, Connor of Auburn, MJ of Paxton and Matt of Chicago and a great Grandchild Matthew of Chicago; her sister, Marcia wife of Roger Norrgard of Holden, her brother, Wayne J. Sullivan, a nephew and several cousins. She was born in Worcester the daughter of Richard J. and Monica R. (Personis) Sullivan of Worcester. Her brother, Richard J. Sullivan predeceased her.

Sheila graduated from St. Peters C.C.H.S. and Salters Secretarial School. She was a medical Assistant/Secretary for many years for various physicians. She also worked 10 years for the Auburn School Department and 23 years for the Auburn District Nurses as the Clinical Administrative Assistant and their Events Coordinator.

She was a Minister of the Eucharist at St. Peters Church, served on the board of Directors for the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, member of the Auburn Woman’s Club, Auburn Webster Lodge of Elks and served on the Auburn Relay for Life Committee. Our Mom was also a Chemo Angel.
Her family was her greatest pleasure. She and her husband loved to travel and always looked forward to their next adventure.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Sheila’s family on Sunday, January 24th from 2:00 until 5:00 pm at the CALLAHAN, FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. Sheila’s Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held on Monday, January 25th at 11:00 am at St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester. The family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions in her name may be made to St. Peters Church Maintenance Fund, 929 Main St., Worcester, MA 01610.
