Euterpe "Ethel" (Pespeni) Liangos, 101, of Worcester, died Wednesday, January 20th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband of 67 years, Paul Liangos died in 2007. She is survived by many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, great grand-nephews and great grand-nieces. Four brothers, Peter, William, Nicholas and Victor Pespeni predeceased her.
She was born in Portsmouth, NH, the daughter of Harris and Christina (Tsageris) Pespeni; and was a graduate of the former High School of Commerce. Mrs. Liangos had worked at the Vellumoid Company and as a knitter for the Worcester Knitting Company. She was a long time member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation for the outstanding care and support provided to Ethel during her stay there.
Her funeral is Friday, January 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
